This morning I dropped off J for his first day of school ever. As he marched off to a full day of Juniour Kindergarten without even a hint of a tear, I wondered where the past few years have gone! Time really does fly and it’s hard to believe that I will never walk another kid to school for their first day ever.
(Can’t miss him in his giant red backpack which was a hand me down cause J somehow broke the zipper on his new Batman backpack BEFORE the first day of school…)
Our morning started with everyone getting up and getting ready for school without too much drama. Most of the drama was caused by me as I accidentally tried to blend up the hard plastic part of the lid of the blender in my smoothie. I couldn’t find it anywhere and finally gave up on it and held a paper towel over the hole that was left in its place! Apparently, it had fallen inside the blender and I didn’t notice as I poured all the other ingredients on top of it. It sounded abnormally loud as I blended but I thought the frozen peach slices I put in must’ve been really hard to blend. After a few minutes of loud blending, I stopped and decided to give everything a stir. As I tried to stir, I found the lid battered and scared by the blending, but still usable. (I’ll never do that again, though! Lesson learned)
Aside from almost ruining my Vitamix, everything else went to plan and Chloe headed to her first day of grade 8 while J headed to JK. Tomorrow, Aimee starts Grade 10 and time will continue marching on.
Happy first days of school and last days of summer, everyone!
