Ahh…. another Monday! Last night I watched (some of!) the Super Bowl and was pretty happy that the Eagles won! I wore this shirt from For the Field Apparel during the game and am pretty obsessed with it. (Do you think it would be appropriate to wear to our first softball game in the spring?)
I also gave Anson props for using the Philadelphia Starbucks mug today, but he said it wasn’t planned.
By the way, it is also less than 3 weeks before we go on our cruise. I am literally counting down the days and cannot wait to feel the sunshine and see the Ocean!
Okay–enough random chatter! This is what my workout week looked like:
Monday, January 29: Kenpo X DVD | I ended up not having a car to get to the gym and since I didn’t want to go at 10 PM, Aimee and I did a P90X DVD instead. These videos always kick my butt so it’s a good substitute for a day off from the gym!
Tuesday, January 30: 45 minutes spinning + back/bicep strength training | My shins have started getting a little sore after running, so Michelle organized my week as a down week from running but with lots of cross training. I ended up getting a nasty cold on Monday so it really worked out perfectly. I struggle to run when I don’t feel that great, but cross training is totally doable!
Wednesday, January 31: 60 minute elliptical + shoulder strength training | I am not an elliptical fan, so I was pumped that I survived an entire hour!
Thursday, February 1: 20 minute run + 40 minute spinning | I was almost about to skip the gym on Thursday, but Anson convinced me to go with him when I was done work at 9. I was exhausted so ended up not getting a whole lot accomplished, but anything is better than nothing!
Friday, February 2: 60 minute elliptical + strength training | I woke up feeling so much better and I definitely rocked my elliptical workout! I am actually starting to enjoy it which is a bonus because my shins are still bothering me. Ugh.
Saturday, February 3: REST DAY | Today I ate pizza, hung out with my friends and did some shopping!
Sunday, February 4: UNPLANNED REST DAY | I was supposed to run today but I text Michelle saying my shins were still hurting. She said to not run so I didn’t. I was supposed to do the bike and Maria even text me and told me to get to the gym, but I found enough excuses to not go.
That’s how my week went— a whole 3km of running, but a lot of cross training which I actually enjoyed. I wouldn’t classify myself as injured or anything serious like that, but I want to be careful so that I don’t end up on the injured list. If that means I don’t run for a little longer and spend a lot of time on the spin bike then that’s okay.
P.S. It’s mostly okay because I found a new Netflix show I really like (Crossing Lines) and I really just want to pedal away and watch it. This morning a guy came in and finally caught my eye before asking, “is it good?” I said, “YES!” and he replied, “I can tell!” I guess I looked very engrossed in my show. I almost skipped strength training and just stayed on the bike so I could keep watching!
How was your workout week?
What shows are you liking lately? (I also really enjoyed Manhunt and think everyone should watch it!)
