I wrote the date down today and was a little shocked that it is December 20th! When did that happen?!
Running has been during some pretty cold weather but I have to say–if you wear the proper gear, it’s not so bad outside. I know I will be forced to head to the treadmill soon, but I definitely prefer to run outside if possible.
Here’s what I accomplished this past week:
Wednesday, December 13: 9.34 km (3k warm-up/1-3 minute intervals/3k cooldown) The sidewalks were pretty icy so after I found a decent stretch that was cleared, I ran back and forth for all my intervals before heading back toward home. I probably looked crazy but it worked and I was able to work on my speed without worrying about wiping out!
Thursday, December 14: nothing!
Friday, December 15: 7.41km total (3k warm-up/10 min @ half marathon pace/3k cooldown) I felt pretty dead during the warm-up for this so I was surprised when I actually did my 10 minutes at my half marathon pace. I guess that’s the point of the warm-up, right? My phone got too cold and died on me at 5.74km so I just headed home & calculated what distance it was later.
Saturday, December 16: nothing unless walking around the mall Christmas shopping for too many hours counts!
Sunday, December 17: 11.19km long slow run. I was supposed to do 10k, but ended up too far from home and had no choice but to keep going. I wore my new hat though, so the run was a win!
Monday, December 18: rest day
Tuesday, December 19: unplanned rest day. Life got busy & I left the house at 8:30 AM and didn’t get home until 9:30 PM. I should’ve gotten my run in really early, but I was just too tired to care. The rest of the week is going to be a lot of shuffling of runs around, but I think I can make it work!
