When I was 17 my dad bought me my first car for $800. It had no air condition, no power windows and it leaked oil like it was it’s sole purpose. I wasn’t allowed to park in the driveway because my dad didn’t want oil on it so I had to park on the road instead. That little blue car lasted for one year before the oil spillage was uncontrollable and it had to be put out of it’s misery!
My next car had it’s oil under control and showed me how great a car can run if it’s taken care of properly. As the years have passed, we have owned many vehicles; but one thing that hasn’t changed is the need to keep up with changing the oil!
Last week we planned a trip to Canada’s Wonderland, one of our favourite places to go as a family, and the day before we went we headed to Canadian Tire to pick up some Quaker State®Advanced Durability™ Motor Oil for the car.
Quaker State tests their oil in taxi fleets across North America to see how it stands up to the stop and go of traffic, the idling and extreme temperatures. As they have done testing they have proven that the Quaker State Advanced Durability Motor Oil delivers twice the wear protection than the industry standard. Anson also picked up the filter we needed and declared that Quaker State is a great brand and the price was better than so many other options at Canadian Tire. Win-win, right? We checked out of Canadian Tire after I resisted buying all the other cute stuff they had for my house! I love their tagline, “Made for Life in Canada,” because it really is a one stop shop! I definitely wanted all their Canada 150 stuff but instead headed home to change the oil in the car.
Once the oil was changed the girls and I started packing our duffle bag for Wonderland. It didn’t take long before I realized that we wear and pack almost the exact same things every single time we go! We tend to go for moisture wicking fitness clothes and comfy runners to start the day. Everything else we need gets put into a durable, easily washable duffle bag that we can hang on the stroller for the day. We don’t like to go back to the car so we take everything we need in one bag!
If you’re like me and love having a checklist for every occasion, I’ve created a printable PDF that you can use to make sure you have everything you need for your next amusement park visit. Just don’t forget to change your oil before any trip so that you can relax and enjoy the journey!
