Last week I spent a significant amount of time planning out the month of August in relation to my workouts! I decided to plan three runs a week and then fill the rest of my days in with at home workouts. I don’t have a gym membership right now or access to heavy weights, so I need to be able to work with what I do have available!
I own a lot of different workout videos and some of them I really enjoy doing. They’re an hour or less out of the day but are effective! As I planned my month I chose my favourite Turbo Jam and P90X videos and added them in. P90X is an awesome program, but I’m not about to try to do the entire program right now. Spending an hour pretending I’m doing pull-ups seems like a huge waste of time to me so until I get stronger, I will only be picking and choosing what workouts I do!
Not only did I plan my workouts for myself, but I also tried to include Aimee in the choices. She has been working out with me all week and it’s pretty cool to hear her opinions on which videos she likes or doesn’t! It’s also great to have a workout buddy!
This past week was great & even though I didn’t get as much done as I planned–it was a lot better than the week before! Progress over perfection, right?
Here’s what I did this past week:
Tuesday, August 1: 30-minute run with Chloe | 20 minute Turbo Jam workout | P90X Ab Ripper X
Wednesday, August 2: P90X Core Synergistics
Thursday, August 3: 35 minute run | 7.76 km run/walk to work in lieu of driving (12km for the day total)
Friday, August 4: Yoga was on plan, but I ended up taking a rest day instead
Saturday, August 5: 8.3km run
Sunday, August 6: P90X Yoga X (only did 30 minutes of it cause it is tough & my yoga skills aren’t ready for 90 minutes at a time!)
Monday, August 7: Civic Holiday where I ate way too much & lazed around. This was not the plan.
Tuesday, August 8: Turbo Jam Sculpt workout (lots of squats, lunges and shoulder work)
Onward and upward to this week now! May it be even better than last week:)
