I struggle with a lot of things in life just like most people do. I always say that maybe by the time I’m 40 I will figure things out–probably not, but it makes me feel a little better! (Also, 40 is coming WAY too soon…eek!)
One of the biggest things that I struggle with is following through on things I say I’m going to do. Usually it’s not things that I say I will do for other people, but if you’re living in my house then I’m probably going to mess up. Take today for example: I printed out some math sheets for both of the girls and gave them to them when they got home from school. I told them that they were going to do three of the sheets every night, and Chloe promptly replied,
You always say stuff like that and it never happens.
Ouch. She’s right though. I love order and goals and charts and plans, but I definitely lack the discipline it takes to follow through with them most of the time. Honestly, it’s embarrassing to say out loud yet I know I’m not alone in this!
At the end of November I declared six weeks of healthy living–and I gave up after three. It was close to Christmas, I was busy and I just plain got lazy. My excuses are pathetic, but there they are!
It bothers me that I quit my six weeks of healthy living challenge, so I’m starting from scratch. I’m easing back into running and I love running outside in the cold right now (even though it keeps pouring and ruining my day…). I have a better food tracking system and let’s be real here–I have a couple trips planned and want to get into better shape for those. Nothing like the thought of wearing a bathing suit to launch some motivation into your life, right?
I can’t do this alone though, so I’m counting on you guys to keep me accountable. Hit up my Facebook page or Instagram and ask me how it’s going as often as you want to nag! My cousin is doing so amazing right now and texts me almost every day telling me what she did for her workout that day and it’s awesome. (Also, she’s lost almost 30 pounds now so she’s basically my hero!)
So here it goes–take 2 on six weeks of healthier living! If at first you don’t succeed, try, try, again!
