Christmas break is killing us. Last night at 2:30 am Aimee was lying on my bed taking selfies and laughing while Chloe was building an epic house on the iPad. At 3 AM Aimee was washing her face and Chloe was asking me if she could please have some yogurt with blueberries. At 3:30 I was insisting they BE QUIET and go to sleep. At 4:31 AM I was still awake.
Next Monday, school starts again and I am not looking forward to the painful journey back to a normal schedule. I go back to teaching in the afternoons and since it’s frowned upon to sleep while teaching, I am going to need to get it together.
Here’s the problem though–I LOVE SLEEP! I also HATE mornings. I could stay up until 3AM every single day and then sleep until noon. I wish that this was the normal way to live, but sadly–it’s not!
I’ve heard people say to become a morning person you just have to make yourself go to bed at the same time and then get up at the same time. Blah, blah, blah. Do those people work until 9PM and get home by 9:30? PROBABLY NOT! How do people who work later do it? That’s what I want to know?! Also–I do my best work late at night. I cleaned the house fantastic at midnight last night. My brain functions better at night and it’s when I used to study for exams when I was in school. If I tried to get up early to study, I wouldn’t remember anything. Studying at 11PM was easy!
