This week was definitely an interesting week! Let’s get right to the three goals shall we?
MAKE BETTER FOOD CHOICES
I found myself busier than the previous week and learned that if I don’t have healthy food packed and with me that I tend to just not eat! There were a few days where I just plain didn’t eat much at all which is not the way healthier living is supposed to go!
Also, on Friday night Aimee and I had plans to watch the new Gilmore Girls Revival on Netflix. We decided junk food was needed to get us through those six hours in Stars Hollow so we ordered pizza, made cookies and ate utter crap! It wasn’t too far into the show that we were both complaining about how horrible we felt. My stomach was killing and the next day I felt sluggish and gross as well. Maybe I don’t miss junk food as much as I thought I would!
My birthday was yesterday so I knew there would be no healthy eating planned! Anson took me to dinner at the CN Tower where I had a Caesar Salad, Maple Glazed Chicken (which was delicious!) and then a surprise dessert from the restaurant that we shared!
This week it is back on track for us! Having realistic expectations about making healthier choices makes it okay to get off by a day or two and not beat yourself up for it.
DRINK MORE WATER
Aimee still wins this–kid is great with her hydration, I tell you! I have been bad because I have been gone a lot. When I’m home I drink a lot of water, but I’ve been forgetting to grab my Vega Swell bottle for the road and I definitely have felt more sluggish then normal.
EXERCISE INTENTIONALLY FOR 30 MINUTES A DAY
This week I have been focused on simple core work and stretching. Chloe is all about this and is actually hilarious to watch as she does yoga moves. She is working on her head stands and is pretty stubborn about figuring out how to do things–I tend to give up instantly:) My back is feeling so much better this week as I have been doing a lot of bridge poses. I am definitely not good at them, but am impressed with the difference I feel in my back already.
We also joined our local YMCA as a family and are super excited to get there this week and try some new classes! The kids will be doing classes in January when the new cycle starts and I am pumped to finally get to try a barre class!
It has only been two weeks and until the junk food binge I was definitely feeling a lot better. Anson has lost weight (of course he has… insert eye roll!) and the girls have remarked many times how they feel really good.
My in laws are coming on Saturday with a birthday meal and cake so that is going to happen, but the goal is to make good choices until then! Wish us luck:)
