Seriously, the idea of eating healthier is all rainbows and unicorns but the reality is grumpiness and attitude. Why can’t cookies be healthy? Who decided a balanced diet was such a great idea? Why am I so hungry right now?
I just want a cookie. Or a dozen. I literally can eat a dozen–easily. I can also down an entire bag of Doritos. In one sitting. (And I wonder why I am 30 pounds heavier than I was just a few years ago….)
This post has no point and I should probably try to make one! The point is this–it’s not easy to cut back on crap, but it’s worth it. At least I hope it is. I’m only on day 3, so right now the jury is still out.
The kids are surviving but are more hungry than normal without empty sugary carbs to fill them up. They’re rocking the water drinking challenge and getting their exercise in.
Yesterday night I had to work so I left them with a bowl filled with strips of paper with different exercises written on them like: 10 sit ups; 10 jumping jacks; etc. I threw some silly things in like: sing Jingle Bells together and hug your sister (which Chloe thought said “hug your hamster” & was sure we had surprised her with a pet hamster. Oh, Chloe!).
They headed to the backyard for their workout and even took some pictures to send me! I’m not sure if they got much exercise but they hung out outside together laughing and having a good time instead of begging to have their iPads. That’s totally worth not having a cookie…or a dozen, right?
Have a great Wednesday everyone!
