Happy Thanksgiving from my family to yours!
Yesterday we spent the morning at church and as we headed downtown for the service, I realized that I hadn’t taken the turkey out of the freezer. I quickly called Anson (we were driving separately) but he was long gone as well. Thanksgiving meal planning tip: remove turkey from freezer. We just laughed and said we would figure it out later.
After a great church service we headed to Niagara Falls for the rest of the day. I love seeing the Falls through the eyes of people who have never been there. In spite of the commercialism surrounding it, the Falls never cease to amaze me with their beauty and power.
We walked along the Falls and a guy selling toys gave J an expandable ball in spite of the fact that I had no cash to pay him for it!
After we took a million pictures we headed down to ride the Hornblower Cruise close to the Falls. The kids had never been on the boat so it was lots of fun for them especially. (I literally thought it was the Maid of the Mist? but that’s the American boat cruises? I am so sure the Canadian side used to be the Maid of the Mist?!)
On the way home we stopped for fast food and I got to watch Trudy’s parents, Diane and David have their first sips of root beer (WHAT?!) and try an A&W cheeseburger. The burger was a hit, but I don’t think they’re going to be packing any root beer to take back to the UK.
Today we have the miraculously thawed turkey in the oven, two pies I made last night sitting on the table, sweet potato casserole ready to be cooked and a mountain of potatoes still to peel. It is a gorgeous day outside; we have a warm house and wonderful friends on their way! Today, I am grateful! Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
Awwww! Happy Thanksgiving. Enjoy the turkey popsicle and beautiful day! Those photos are amazing, and Niagara is one of my fav places (not the commercial part!)
