I’ve driven across Canada a bunch of times and the beauty of Alberta never ceases to amaze me! It’s been a long time since we were there (just look how small the girls are in these pics!), but I’ve never forgotten this part of the last trip we took!
We stopped in Hinton, Alberta to stay with some friends and quickly saw what a gorgeous town it is! It is small and kinda in the middle of nowhere, but you can’t beat the views!
We spent a day driving to Mt. Edith Cavell in Jasper and of course, got to see some wildlife! Anson wisely tried to feed this bear a blueberry muffin we had in the car. (If you don’t already know–he is way more adventurous than I am!)
Once we arrived at Edith Cavell our visit turned into a hike–in very non-hiking clothes! Anson wanted to climb up to the waterfall at the bottom of Angel Glacier, so he headed that way. It seemed pretty close and not too difficult until he started climbing and getting smaller and smaller in my view!
He eventually made it back down, declaring that it was pretty dangerous and probably not the best choice especially in his khakis! It wasn’t long before we spotted this sign broken and upside down on the ground…
Live & learn, right?! We had a snowball fight, ate ice and enjoyed the views before heading back to the car. If you ever get a chance to hike Mt. Edith Cavell in Alberta you should definitely do it! Next time we drive across the country, it is going to be on our list! Alberta, you are beautiful!
