It has been hot and humid this past week! I have had possibly the worst runs of the year in the month of August, but surprisingly I’m not feeling too bothered by it. It’s hot and I know I don’t do great running in the sun, so I’ve just been doing the best that I can which is all I can do!
Here’s what I got done this week while sweating profusely:
Wednesday, August 3: I hit the trails for my 5 x 1km repeats. I was drenched and wasn’t too thrilled when I got passed by a couple of kids running with their mom. They were professionals I’m sure!! 8.55km done tho!
Thursday, August 4: I got myself out the door by 8:30 thinking it would be cooler but 2k in I started questioning why I’m signed up for any races at all because 2k was obviously all I could run! lol! I called it quits at 3.55km. Then I went for ice cream with Carmy….
Friday, August 5: I hit the treadmill for some speed intervals because it was so hot out. I really can’t figure out how my gym has NO FANS. There are massive ones in the spinning studio, but none on the floor. They don’t even have ceiling fans! Total distance was 8.69km.
Saturday, August 6: DAY OFF!
Sunday, August 7: Today I was supposed to do 12k, but it was HOT and I kept putting it off until I put it off so long I just plain didn’t run at all!
Monday, August 8: I headed out at noon for my 12k. I stopped at Starbucks to drink water and ended up buying a water bottle to carry with me too. It was probably my slowest run in a very long time, but that’s ok! I also had a baseball game at night!
Tuesday, August 9: 8k run. I ran at night and it was relatively cool. Hooray!
