Every step forward is improvement!
Anson sent me this text last night in the middle of my run because I wrote him saying I was taking walk breaks and it just wasn’t going great. Sometimes a run just plain sucks, but quitting helps nothing. If we just keep going and keep moving forward, we are improving ourselves mentally and physically–even if we don’t realize it right away!
So here we are again for another recap of my workouts! We spent the weekend away with Anson’s family and I put off some runs and shortened one of them. We ate good food even though it wasn’t so healthy! Let’s be real though–could you resist this waffle?!
It was a great weekend and sometimes it’s okay to just relax and enjoy the moment and that’s what I did!
Wednesday, July 27: 5km run. Half of this run was with Aimee. It was a disaster. I am writing an article about running with Aimes, so you’ll just have to wait for more details later:)
Thursday, July 28: Run Ajax 5k where I got my new PB of 26:46
Friday, July 29: Strength training at the gym where I got seriously grumpy at the teens who can’t put the free weights back where they go.
Saturday, July 30: We went to Wonderland where I discovered the Iced Coconut Milk Mocha Machiatto. Delicious. Delicious.
Sunday, July 31: 5km run with Anson and my brother-in-law, Abe. It was supposed to be over 10km but it would not stop raining and there was lightning. We finally got out the door around 9:40. The next day Abe told us how someone had died from being struck by lightning that night, so I was really glad we waited until the storm passed. Scary stuff.
Monday, August 1: ate above waffles, burgers, hot dogs, cake, ice cream, pizza, cheese bread, and drank a lot of coffee and root beer. Felt awesome and did not move.
Tuesday, August 2: 10km run at a very slow pace. Tomorrow’s run will be better!
Tomorrow I am going to have TWO posts (because I don’t want to combine the two months!). First I will recap my July goals & how they went. Then the second post will be my August goals. In reality this should’ve happened last week….maybe staying on top of my posts should be my August goal!
