A couple weeks ago I said I like to do these posts because it helps keep me accountable. Today is one of the posts where I’m thinking, “hmm! Maybe I should post something else cuz I didn’t really do a lot of workouts!” I guess that’s where the accountable part comes in–I don’t workout but write it down for all to see which helps me kick my own butt back into gear again! You should try it sometime!
Here’s how my last week went:
Wednesday, July 20: I woke up feeling really nauseous and just couldn’t imagine running. I went to the gym in the hotel with Anson, did about 2 sets of shoulder raises then laid on the yoga mat and watched him workout. We did end up walking over 14 km according to my phone and we also rode bikes all over, so I’ll count that as a win!!
Thursday, July 21: nothing. zero. zilch.
Friday, July 22: I planned on running a short, slow run before Sunday’s Jazz Run, but I kept waiting for the humidity and heat to go down and it just refused! I could hardly walk outside so eventually threw in the towel and didn’t run. (I guess I could’ve used a treadmill…*shudder*)
Saturday, July 23: again…nothing. I did walk around IKEA and eat meatballs and mac and cheese though.
Sunday, July 24: Beaches Jazz Run recapped here
Monday, July 25: I woke up feeling exhausted. I took a giant nap and still felt horrible and dizzy. I ended up not going to baseball and just resting all day.
Tuesday, July 26: Strength training with Anson at the gym. I want to get back into the habit of hitting the gym and since Anson has been going, it’s good motivation. Let’s just say my upper body strength is embarrassingly weak compared to my leg strength. My arms have been shaking all day now!
Next up for me is getting into the toughness of full marathon training. Eek! Bring on the really long runs, earlier mornings and tired feet!
What motivates you to keep working out?
