Don’t you love friends who convince you to do things with them? And then nag you daily until you actually do them?!
My friend, Michael, has been working on his health for awhile now. He does cross fit five times a week and has lost a bunch of weight so far! He blogs over at Creed Iron and has been documenting his journey there as well as on his facebook page and instagram. Last week, he messaged me and his message said, “Hey would you like to do a push up thing with me?” Sometimes, I’m not so bright and I say yes to things before figuring out exactly what they are; so, that’s what I did! I said, “sure,” to Michael and then learned what he was talking about.
The challenge is to do 75 push-ups a day: 25 in the morning, 25 at lunch, and 25 at night. That seems doable, right?!
I have to say–it IS doable. Is it easy? Of course not! But would it be called a challenge if it was? Michael has a bunch of people doing the challenge with him and we all have a google spreadsheet where we update every day how many we have done. This helps Michael to be able to message me with messages like, “15? That’s it? Get on it right now!” It hasn’t even been an entire week, but my push ups are already improving. I am still on my knees because I am a total weakling, but I am confident that after a few months I will be up on my toes!
Having friends to pester you to exercise or eat better or just BE better is so important! Doing push ups is great, but building a community around you that encourages you to be the best you can be is even better! If anyone else wants in on the challenge, let me know because I would be happy to pester and nag you on a daily basis:)
