I have this bad habit where I workout for a few months and then stop everything completely for a few months. It basically ensures that I never actually get into shape. NOT THIS YEAR! This is what I did this past week!
Wednesday: Les Mills Combat video at home
Thursday: I went and joined Planet Fitness. They’re new to Canada and you seriously can’t beat the price of $10 a month. (I know that it has sometimes gotten a bad rap in the States but they have the same equipment as any other gym and that’s all I care about!) I had canceled my other gym membership awhile ago because it was just too expensive, but $10 is less than two trips to Starbucks. Worth it! I didn’t actually exercise today tho:)
Friday: I got up at 5 AM and made it to start working out at 5:30. This is the easiest time to get to the gym, but also the hardest! Hope it lasts! I did a short warm up on the treadmill, some back & bicep work (following a plan given to me by a trainer friend of mine!), plus a cool down.
Saturday: I got up at 6 to hit the gym before Anson had to leave for work. (He works every Saturday which is a total bummer, but it is what it is!). Spent some time on the bike plus leg day with weights.
Sunday: No workout today thankfully! My legs are pretty stinking sore:)
Monday: Got up at 5 again–if I do this for 2 weeks I expect a trophy to descend from Heaven! Chest/Tricep day and my arms were shaking until noon.
Tuesday: I woke up at 5 with a massive headache. I started getting a cold on Monday & think it just settled in. I got out of bed and then laid back down. 7 minutes later I was still awake so I said (to Anson who was up), “Forget it! I’m just going anyhow!” I went to grab my clothes that I had laid out the night before and caught sight of the snow outside and unplowed roads. I decided I didn’t have the energy to shovel so early, so I gave up my gym plans! I did shovel later though, so that counts for something, right?!
Last Wednesday I said my goal was to workout three times and I managed four so I am pretty happy with myself! I’m sticking with a goal of four days for this next week including 2 running days which honestly, I’ve been avoiding. That marathon is not gonna run itself though, is it?!
